I think DSL40 has much more "body" than the Origin 50.....

One side of this is apparently a modified Nobels OD-1. If I remember right, the other side is a variation on their Garagetone series Drive Train overdrive.

Doing sound in bars for years now, I can attest that once the guitar's run through your pedals, amp, mic, and venue PA, it's more about the general character of your tone than the nitty gritty, and the Noiseless still sound like a proper strat. I've seen poignant moments in music ruined many times by bad buzz, I've never seen a moment ruined by a pickup sounding 5-10% different.

I got a up graded reverb chamber in my blues jr 3 and put in Celestion G12H modered sounds great

I have found that most Dumble pedals are Klons with a Voice control. I have bought several and compared them to the Steel Singer and Super Steel Singer but the Dumble have more gain? The original circuit is very clean with just a eq or boost type effect. I remember how beautiful they sound and how little they effect the signal. It's all arbitrary anyway because every real Dumble amp is made from spare parts and no 2 is the same. And who has one to check against. What do you think. Cheers mate. FNQ A

I don’t know why people test amps with pedals.

The mid boost for me makes the guitar sound too muddy /deep . The P90 version is less affected by the switch I think .

Im thinking about pairing one Blues deluxe with a cream back and one with an Alnico Cream in a stereo rig. Do you think it's a good decision? I still don't know if I put the alnico gold or the cream in the other one. I like the cream better overall but the cream back and cream are both very mid heavy and maybe the cream back pairs better with the alnico gold because I think its a little more open and transparent...

Thanks Shane, another great video. I have a Strymon Sunset and can get the A side at unity volume, or the B side at unity volume, but when I use both for Max dirt the volume goes through the roof. I think I need to settle for A or A+B only, similar to your setup with the 2 pedals.

I am surprised that there is still no effects loop on the 50. I have the MK II 100 but would not consider the upgrade to the Gen 3. Instead I bought a Marshall SC20H and cannot beleive how much better it sounds than the Katana, I guess thats cos its a valve amp but hey its 3 times the price.

I was given one of these the other day i put new strings on. I needed to shim the heal of the neck and after a taking out a little of the bow with a tress rod set up i set up the string hight and man this thing is actually really good.

It depends on what you want and how you use it. I like both. They both have their pros and cons.

For those of you who are inexperienced, if you can, turn it at wherever you can and play along to backing track just as loud. EQ your amp accordingly. You’ll be surprised at what cuts through and sounds good when competing with the rest of a band as compared to playing at home by yourself. Be prepared to cut highs and lows and boost mids. The higher the volume, the less gain you need. That’ll help with clarity. Also, if you turn down gain you’ll lose some bass so you may have to boost the low end slightly. If you use effects, your effects will get washed out a little so you’ll need to boost those higher than you normally would at home.

Shane love the posts Bro. The Epiphone inspired by Gibson custom shop are great guitars. I recently got the 1958 Korina Explorer £1200 as opposed to $10,000 for the Gibson Custom Shop., it had Gibson Burstbuckers fitted. I had a spare set of Custombuckers which are now in this guitar. It's a fantastic guitar , really well made and plays well and sounds great. A lot has been said about the Epiphone prices but I don't regret getting one. Regarding Eastman I have the SB/55 (Junior) another great guitar Lollar P90 and Faber hardware an absolute beast again expensive but another I do not regret paying for. cheers from the UK.

What I like about this pedal is the lack of runaway distortion overtones, its a clean distortion pedal, in other words it's not picking up every accidental finger bump on adjacent strings or pick noise, I find I can use less hand muting as only the notes I picked ring out clear and distinct (I hope that makes sense). My lead solos sound much better with this than other higher gain pedals.

Have that exact guitar. Love it.
